MyChat 8 beta 2
1. Install it only apart from the working server.
2. The server is free and provided with 20 concurrent connections.
3. The client application located inside and installed from the server's WEB interface.
4. Functionality is not complete. Please, if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, post them in this thread.
5. New builds will be posted here.
6. All active beta testers will get the option to extend the update subscription for an additional half of the year if they have purchased or extended a current subscription.

Issues found in MyChat 8 beta 2:

1. Sent formatted text (for example bold) is displayed with format tags in last message preview in conversation (in private chat and in conference) and in protocol logs on the server.
It should display only text message, without any tags.





2. Functionality, that doesn't work:
- we can’t create conferences in client and on the server as autoconference
- favorites
- importing users from Active Directory is not possible

3. Not very important, but it would be nice if you could add (if it’s possible) to the Windows client installation a function to ask for privilege elevation when needed.

When we start an installation as a standard Windows user and choose during the installation an option to install it in ‘C:\Program Files\’ the whole installation process fails (more privileges are needed).
The installation must be started again with option ‘Run as Administrator’ being chosen.

Issues found in MyChat 8 beta 6:

1. Preview last message under conference name on Channels list still displays formatting tags.
The tags are also displayed in protocols logs on the server.
This issue is fixed for private chats between two users.

2. Issues with conferences – more information:

a. When we create a new autocreated conference in Admin console, the conference isn’t saved:

i. Navigating to other tab and back to auto created conferences displays only Main (UID 1) conference. Any new conferences disappear.
ii. We tried changing conference options directly after it was created and became visible on the list. Trying to save the changes results in an error: “This chatroom (UID) does not exist.

b. There are no options to create conferences in Windows client. Users are in Administrators group and have full permissions.

Issues with conferences are preventing us from testing by more people.

Issues and thoughts - MyChat 8 beta 7

1. Previously reported formatting tags are being still displayed in server protocols
2. Auto created conferences are not functional in server
3. First impression about ‘new’ conferences in client is very positive. Discovered issues and our thoughts:

a. When several conferences with the same name exist at the same time (users have them opened) – list with existing conferences displays only the last one created.
b. Inviting users via context menu doesn’t work (in development?)
c. new conference displays a JSON text/command after creation (debug mode enabled?)
d. will there be an option in client to change topic ?
e. will there be an option in client to change conference options (make it invisible, add/change password) – in Windows client and on server?
f. ‘Add members’ list is not working (nothing to choose)

Any idea, if you can/is possible to implement a feature to return to a closed conference from history ?

After you finish the main implementation of conferences, we have a small request:
Could you add a permission for creating several types of conferences (public, secured by password, invisible).
Or maybe: add a permission to hide the ‘tool’ with all conference types. Provide a simpler window without the possibility to choose the types. It automatically creates invisible conference. Something like ‘create a simple conference’.
I'm asking, because we know, that some users will create conferences with default settings (public) (in hurry, without reading/setting/understanding all options) and then ask, why someone from other department could access their conference.
Our plan would be to allow all users to create only invisible conferences and only several people (maybe department managers) the option to create public or secured by password conference types.
