Update MyChat Server and Client on the local network and via Internet without Active Directory

Important! Automatic Clients Updates will work only if the following conditions:

1. Computers run on accounts that have rights to install programs (when upgrading to version 4.5) and modification of files in \Program Files\MyChatClient\.
2. At the client computers have access to FTP to MyChat server. This does not necessarily port 21, it can be different (as specified in the configuration server).

Overall the upgrade process can be divided into several parts — a server update, add to the server the new version of the client for automatic updates, client updates. 

And now look at these steps in more detail.

The first step - updating the server. Suffice it to start installing the new version of the server and specify the path to the already established MyChat Server. In this case, the installer will perform all necessary steps to update itself and launch is ready to work server.

To prevent unforeseen situations suggest making a backup copy of the database server ([INSTALLDIR]\db\*.abs) or the entire server completely before upgrading.  

The second step - add the server are new installation package MyChat Client

In addition, you must run a built-in FTP server, as well as clients download updates via FTP protocol.

Now the server is ready.

Third Step - Update the client. When the old MyChat client connecting to the new server, the client will appear with the proposal to update. Push the button "Update". MyChat client performs all the necessary steps automatically. The only condition of this update - is the existence of the user rights to write and change to the folder with the established MyChat Client.
